Hats, Cocktails and History at Oil and Cotton Studio

Crafts never tasted so good. Join milliner Cassandra MacGregor and the team of Oil and Cotton Studio to make straw cocktail hats, enjoy drinks and learn hat history.

Cassandra MacGregor is a professional hat maker, honing her craft since 2001. She has relocated from New York to Dallas and she wants to share her art with you! And I’m not talking about your grandmother’s gardening hat. Learn to make a stylish, summer cocktail hat out of straw. Add embellishments like butterflies and flowers, or add feathers, buttons and more at home once you learn the technique. In the process of hat making, attendees will learn a bit about hat history. After wrapping up, guests will take a walk down to the nearby Bolsa for cocktails, dinner, and a behind the scenes peek into Cassandra’s studio! This studio is where Cassandra fashions custom fedoras and other hats for men and women.
